What is augmented reality (AR)?
With the use of different APIs for developers, ARCore allows your phone to be used to analyze and detect its environment and understand the world around it. This means that your mobile will analyze the site where you are using its camera and different sensors, will make an internal map of the place, and with this information you will be able to implement augmented reality.
To use Google Play Services for AR, you need an Android device with the following:
- A Google Account
- ARCore Certification
- At least 1 GB of free space
- At least one AR app installed
- An unmeasured mobile network

- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store Google Play app.
- Find the Google Play Services app for AR.
- Press Download.
